You have to fulfill certain criteria to get the different wallpapers. It’s not exactly clear what the criteria are. I think it’s something to do with getting the particular cats – if you haven’t gotten the cat to your garden yet, you can’t have their wallpaper. For some of the wallpapers, you need to get the treasure/memento from certain cats to unlock a wallpaper. ( For example, Shiro Neko San / Snowball needs to have given you a momento for his wallpaper to be available. Same for Ms Fortune and Peaches). For other wallpapers you need to have the cat visited you at least 25 times.
To buy the wallpapers, go to Menu> Shop>Gallery/Wallpaper.
Here’s a look at them:
When you click one, they’ll show you the sample, the actual one will of course not have the ‘sample’ word:
After you click ‘buy’, click the ‘save’ button. The game will automatically ‘exit’ and the picture will be in your phone’s ‘camera roll’.
Once you’ve bought the wallpaper, you can download it numerous times.

2nd page wallpapers (the socks one is soooo cute!! Also the 2nd one with all the different cats):

You need Bengal Jack’s memento for his wallpaper. For Ms Fortune and Sassy Fran’s you need to have had them visit you 25 times to get these wallpapers.

I have collected all the cats (and taken at least one picture of all of them), all the items, and all the remodels. I’m missing two wallpapers (they’re locked for me). The only thing I’m still collecting is momentos. I don’t have a momento from pickles or the maid cat which might tie into why I’m still working on getting those wallpapers.

I found out how to unlock he wall paper ! You need to get the cats momento’s and just wait 24 hours then once you have it check your wallpaper and it should be unlocked. I figured it out since I got ms. Fortune Moments recently checked back and I unlocked the wallpaper for her that I didn’t have .

I got the Sassy Fran and Ms Fortune ones by getting their mementos and re-entering the game; the one with all the cats and the “neko atsume” writing after seeing them all at least once in the yard.

They are to use as wallpapers for the device you are using it on. If you click “Save to device” it basically screenshots it then it goes into your photos and you can use it.

Ok, i was hoping someone knew exactly witch each wallpeper requited. With the update and everything i have only one missing and i’m guessing is for bengal jack’s memento.
When the wallpapers fisrt appeared i had most already but two:
sassy fran’s one you get it with her memento
And the one with all the faces and ‘neko atsume’ written in the middle i got it after buying all the goodies that require gold fish

For some wallpapers, you have to buy things in the store. The goldfish wallpaper is unlocked by buying th goldfish bowl. The one where the cats are in buckets/pots requires you to buy all of those. I already owned one of the new wallpapers, so I don’t know about that. Hope this helps?

I’m p/ sure the fish one isn’t actually one of the wall papers. It’s the only one that doesn’t have the logo and on another site the two missing ones were a picture of Frosty and a green Neko Atsume banner

I’m only missing the 7th wallpaper, the one with various cats hanging on socks, I have all mementos and at least one photo of each cat, I don’t know what to do to get it, any ideas?

Try taking more pictures, I heard that works for some people. Or get the cats to visit more times. My new phone has the wallpaper and so far I’ve gotten the mementos from all cats in the picture and a lot of pictures of each cat and many visits but that’s all. I don’t have many items or any of the other gardens on the new phone.

Hi! From my experience I can tell that some wallpapers unlock when you buy the goodies that appear on them. I have collected all mementos, all remodels and I have taken pictures of all cats, but still I have three wallpapers missing. I just recently decided to google the wallpapers to see what they look like and when I saw the one with the pots and buckets I realized that I had not bought those goodies, so when I did bought them that wallpaper unlocked! Same happened when I bought the goldfish bowl. I think now I need to go on a buying spree to have all the wallpapers 😮

I don’t know about other makes but on android click on the picture of the wallpaper that you want then click again and hold down then click set wallpaper. Boom free wallpaper.

I was in an interesting situation recently where I was missing Bengal Jack’s wallpaper but had his momento and photo, every other wallpaper, every item, every remodel, every cat’s momento and at least 1 photo. So pretty much everything you can collect in the game. His momento was the last one I unlocked and I guess you might have to wait until the next day. I don’t quite remember when I unlocked it compared to his momento. I think it was within 3-4 of getting his momento though. I read somewhere that you might need more photos of cats, though, so I started taking random photos of every cat that showed up for like 2 days and noticed at some point I had unlocked it. So… it could have been the momento alone or it could have been the photos because I don’t usually take a lot of different photos of each cat unless it’s something I really like. But something to try if you’re like me and can’t figure out how you can literally have everything except a single wallpaper.

I just got the pots and buckets wallpaper, and I did *not* have to buy all of the socks in order to get it, only all of the buckets and pots. Buying the socks also doesn’t help with the socks wallpaper. I don’t have any of the sock items, and I have both wallpapers.
